Skillet fried apples

This very ‘country’ dish is a family tradition. It is a sweet-tart and colorful addition to any meal. Great for using those tart apples that are delicious in cooked recipes, though any crisp apple will work.

Prep time: 10-15 minutes (10-15 with auto-peeler) Cook time: 15-20 minutes

Serve with Homemade Pot Pie (Easy!) or as a side for almost any meal.

For a colorful presentation and a tasty mix, use different types of apples:

  1. Wash, core, peel and slice apples.
  2. Place apple slices in a large skillet with butter, sugar and a dash of cinnamon. Cover and simmer over med-low heat till soft but not mushy, stirring occasionally. Serve hot.
