French Burnt Peanuts

Submitted by John on 15 March 2007 - 8:07pm

I always found these nuts irresistable. The crunch of the sugar coating into the taste of the peanuts is a great contrast. This recipe makes about 2 cups.

  1. Preheat oven to 300°F.
  2. Place all ingredients in a large saucepan.
  3. Bring to a boil and boil, while stirring, until all liquid is gone.
  4. Remove from heat. Spread nuts over greased jellyroll pan.
  5. Put pan in preheated oven for 15 minutes.
  6. Stir peanuts and bake another 15 minutes.
  7. Let cool and store in glass container.

What you should know

I have found raw peanuts at farmers markets and natural food stores.
